Preparing for Winter Break

Winter break is typically a quiet time for managing student housing. In order to keep things running smoothly over break, we ask residents to prep their spaces before leaving town for the extended holiday season.

Winter Break Checklist:

• Submit any outstanding work orders 

• Pack important items (don’t forget medications or pets)

• Bring valuable items with you

• Take all garbage outside to appropriate receptacles 

• Close and lock windows and close blinds

• Remove perishable items out of fridge and pantry 

• Keep refrigerators plugged in 

• Leave thermostat at 60 degrees 

• Turn off alarm clocks and unplug unnecessary items

• Turn off all lights, lamps, and small appliances

• Empty your mail from mailbox and collect packages

• Don’t forget about monthy charges while you are away
